Gran’s 90th birthday party at The Trout Hotel in Cockermouth, the main reason for this trip. All family from across the UK and 8 of us from Australia were there.

many bridges as well as the one we are standing on. Including a swing bridge and a rail/public transport bridge.

The Norman castle has many rooms and a gallery. A Longstaffe wrote an article on ‘The New Castle’ in 1868. He lived 1828-1898.

We climbed to the top of Durham Cathedral, 300 steps. At the top it started to snow!.
It is from medievil times. Still used regulaly today. There is also a castle which is the university.

First leg of the journey on Emirates. Melbourne to Dubai.

Emirates had a camera so you could view underneath the plane. This was good as it was too bright to look out over the desert through the window.
There was also a front camera so you could see the plane coming into land.
